The Ferrara Candy Company started in the early 1900s after the Ferrara family of Italy emigrated to the USA. Salvatore Ferrara opened a bakery in 1908 and sold candy coated almonds known as confetti. The sales of candy became greater so Ferrara partnered with two brothers and started producing a variety of candies. As of today the company is owned by the Ferrero Group and is based in Illinois.
